It's the yarn advent calendar!
We're going full whimsy this year, with a bright-pastel unicorn-coloured rainbow.
The yarn shown isn't the yarn that will be in the calendar - that would ruin the surprise. The yarn circle is last year's Carnival colourway, and the yarn lineup is the Unicorn yarn I dyed for sweater kits, and which made me desperate to dye a perfect unicorn rainbow.
There are 25 mini-skeins in each calendar, and they'll be individually wrapped and labelled.
The packaging will all be recyclable, and as minimal as I can make it while still keeping the yarn a secret and the unwrapping fun.
There will be a pawful of little crafty extras scattered throughout the calendar.
Bases
Wool bases
4-ply wool - this is a springy, bouncy, sturdy wool with a bit of crunch and character. (80m in each 20g skein)
DK wool - like the 4ply, but bigger! (40m in each 20g skein)
4-ply merino bounce - this is a lovely soft and bouncy high-twist fine merino. (80m in each 20g skein)
4-ply sleek merino (organic) - this is a smooth, sleek merino with a gentle shine. (80m in each 20g skein)
DK merino (organic) - a soft merino yarn with a lovely drape. (45m in each 20g skein)
The wool yarns are pictured in a little lineup. They're ordered, left to right, as;

Adventure sock - this is the custom blend I've been using for the Catsock Adventure. It's a sock-friendly plastic free high-twist blend of Corriedale and Romney. (100m in each 25g skein)
Swish mixes
Soft like a cloud - this mix alternates a super-soft alpaca/silk/cashmere 4ply yarn with a laceweight baby suri & silk fluff yarn.
Shiny like a mane - this mix alternates a glowing 100% silk 4ply yarn with a laceweight mohair & silk fluff yarn.
Swish mixes, mixed - this mix has a mix of the alpaca/silk/cashmere, 100% silk and the two laceweight fluff yarns.
All of the bases are completely plastic-free - no nylon and no superwash treatment.
Patterns
Every yarn calendar comes with two patterns. You'll be able to choose any one of my patterns designed for advent calendars, plus one pattern designed for making the most of your scraps. I'll be in touch with details about the patterns available and the yarns & colour combinations they suit.
Extras
Add on a project bag and enamel pin in a new-for-advent catty design, or go for the whole adventstravaganza, and get the stitchmarker calendar as well. This year's theme is Mewnicorns & Caticorns - all things bright and sparkly.
Extra skeins
You can add one or two full-size skeins. This year these will be in a soft grey shade. There'll be a chance to change your order and add/remove extra skeins before the calendars ship, too.
